Advice For Those Courageous Enough To Learn The Truth About First Time Home Ownership
Are you tired of wondering what your actual possibilities are for homeownership? Or maybe you’ve “done your research” on the internet and found that all hope is lost and there’s no way you will EVER own a home… Stop being so dramatic. It’s not true.
News flash to the internet researchers… The internet lies. Now I don’t want to be insensitive to the fact that you’ve spent hours and hours looking at mortgage calculators, reading absolute horseshit blogs and opinion pieces like “20 reasons you shouldn’t or can’t buy”, but the fact is that you went to the wrong place to find your information. I get it, you wanted to look savvy and like you didn’t need any professional help. Well, you wasted your time. Get over it!
If you’ve read the above and you still believe in your internet research.... Beat it! Scram! There’s nothing here for you! But, if you have the courage to find out the actual truth, read on.
Look, I know how you feel. In fact, most of the would-be buyers that we speak to on an annual basis (a metric shit-ton) have felt the same way. Here’s what we’ve found to be the actual truth: Almost everyone has a path to homeownership and it’s not “the system” getting in the way, it’s them. The good news is that there is a path to homeownership. While it isn’t exactly the same for everyone, there are a few basic principles that don’t change.
It doesn’t start with you finding your dream home and then trying to figure out how to buy it. It doesn’t start by going to your bank and asking them for the worthless, inaccurate advice and/or unvetted pre-approval they might issue. (It would have more value as butt wipe… national, corporate box banks are terrible at home loans. Don’t Do That!) It doesn’t even start with you deciding what your loan amount is, based on some online mortgage calculator and one of the many free credit score apps on your phone. (those are good tools to get a general idea, but they aren’t accurate)
It DOES start by consulting with a real person, a professional real estate broker, such as the dedicated professionals on our team. We’ll actively listen to your goals and then connect you with a good and trustworthy mortgage broker who will look over your financial situation and your credit profile. Then we’ll sit down and go over all the information, the realities and the best plan of action. THIS is how we determine our starting point, regardless of what the end goal is going to be. It starts by having the courage to speak with a real human about your real human goals and dreams.
